Dear Parents/ Carer,
Re: School Provision for Layan & Omar starting Monday 1st March 2021
I am writing to confirm that a place has been allocated for your child/ren in the school’s key worker provision, which will be offered on the school site from Monday 1st March 2021.
Children should wear play clothes instead of school uniform, as the children will be completing sporting activities throughout the day to support the children’s well-being. It is important that they also bring their own water bottle and an additional jumper or fleece as the windows in the classroom must remain open, so it is likely to be cold.
The children do not need to bring in bags. They can bring a healthy snack in their coat pocket, which they will be able to eat during morning play. They must not bring any other items from home, as this can spread infection. The children will be provided with a hot school dinner, so will not need to bring a packed lunch.
Your child/ren should arrive at 9am at the main gate in St Leonard’s Street, where they will have their temperature taken, before entering. The children will be then be dismissed from the same gate at 3.30pm. Please ensure you drop off and collect the child on time as we do not have additional staff to re-open the gate, or to supervise the pupils after 3.30pm. While queuing to drop off/ collect pupils please ensure that you wear a mask and maintain a 2m distance from anyone not in your household.
We are able to supervise the children from 8.30 – 9am. If you wish us to take up this offer, please make sure that you are outside the gate at 8.30am. Once the children waiting at 8.30am have been let in, we will not be able to re-open the gate again until 9am.
We will aim to allow the children to join in the remote learning session for their class, but as the provision will contain pupils from different year groups, at times this may not be possible. We thank you for your understanding. As infection rates are very high at present, we will be operating two bubbles to try and keep the children as safe as we can while local cases continue to rise. The children within each bubble will be kept separate from each other throughout the school day.
We look forward to welcoming the children on Monday 1st March. Please continue to follow the Tier 4 restrictions to help keep yourself, your child, our staff and the whole community safe.
Yours sincerely,
Mr G. Palmer, Headteacher
