Year 5 Phasels Wood Residential - Thu 30 Jun 2016

30 children from year 5 embarked on an exciting journey to Phasels Wood Activity Centre on Wednesday 29th June, where they will spend 3 days and 2 nights learning about the natural environment, get a glimpse and understanding of survival skills, learn more about team building skills, sleep in tents as well as take part in various outdoor activities.
The children started their first day with a Scavenge Hunt. All children were deployed into groups, then sent out looking for wildlife and plants.
After lunch was over, the children went back into their groups and got cracking on building their own den's for the evening. After that was over the children learnt how to make bug shelters and how to safely light a fire using sticks and  stones.
The afternoon was packed full of adventure. Using Toboggan carts, they rushed down the 30ft slide. As the afternoon drawn to a close the children settled down with a hot chocolate, journals and biscuits told stories to each other before going to sleep.
